ABOUT
Corina Andrian is an award-winning Romanian-British film director, visual and movement artist currently based in London. Through her art, she wishes to presence and remind people of their human nature through a Surrealism formed of reality itself, the reality you normally overlook. Andrian looks at life curiously experimenting with the very fabric of life by blending time and movement into a synaesthetic visual unity and aspires to an ideal tangible cinema. To her, watching does not only involve seeing but a whole embodied intelligence. She is passionate about the heightened experiences of human nature and is currently in development with her first feature-length film.

Her artistic background traces back to an early rigorous professional dance training which visually weaves into her synaesthetic cinematic language.
In her genre-defying explorations bordering the tragic with a tasteful dark humour, Andrian constantly provokes the functions of the visual. She has avidly directed over 20 fiction, dance, experimental shorts, a documentary featuring Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch, a sold-out physical theatre show “Generations-The Silent Inheritance” and films for a 4-screen immersive theatre show “Anemoia”. Her work has gathered 7 Best Film Awards and over 100 screenings around the world including the 68th International Short Film Festival Oberhausen, 42nd Brussels Independent Film Festival, 20th Festival International Très Court, been published in magazines such as Glamour, CVLTARTES, Director’s Notes and exhibited multisensory video installations in art galleries such as Hoxton 253 Art Project Space (London), Goethe Institut Bukarest, /SAC @ MALMAISON (Bucharest). She continues to reimagine potential cinematic collaborations between arts such as painting, textile arts, theatre and music.

Andrian specialises in envisioning worlds for:
- film (multi-screen installation, shorts, feature, music videos, promos, advertising, trailers, proof of concept)
- theatre (physical theatre, immersive)
