Corina Andrian is an Intimacy Coordinator and Intimacy Director based in London. Corina’s unique approach to intimacy coordination blends 20 years of rigorous movement arts training with film and physical theatre directing, all deeply rooted in a lifelong commitment to exploring the endless possibilities of human expression.

 

How can I help you as an intimacy coordinator?

  • Technical choreographer for realistic scenes of intimacy/hyperexposure, simulated sex and nudity supporting diverse, nuanced and authentic stories

  • Support the director’s vision whilst ensuring a consent forward process for the actors and the crew

  • A collaborator who understands cinematic storytelling from pre-production to post

What can be considered "intimate" or "hyper-exposed"?

  • Intimacy comes in many forms including: simulated sex and sexual violence, nudity, partial nudity, hyperexposure (exposing areas of the body that are usually covered in public for religious, cultural or personal reasons and beyond), romance, birth scene, bath scene etc. What feels "normal" for a person, can be intimate to another.

 

What if choreography destroys creativity?

  • Alike Stunt Coordinators who choreograph fight scenes, violence and action sequences to look realistic, Intimacy Coordinators assist in implementing safe practices for scenes featuring sensitive or vulnerable content.

  • When the actors feel safe, they can focus on the performance better and work much faster. Don’t worry! Improvisation is also possible where there is informed consent.
