RawDance: Moving Talks (documentary)

Over 10 days, a team of multidisciplinary Romanian artists researched, created and performed in Wuppertal, Germany. RAWDANCE Project proposed a deeper cultural connection between the contemporary dance scenes from Bucharest and Wuppertal. The exchange included several street performances infused with Romanian mythology and tradition. They blended choreographed structures and real time composition with live music and also featured universal talks with members of the Tanztheater Wuppertal Pina Bausch Company and Tanz Station - Barmer Bahnhof.

The documentary follows the struggles and victories of the RawDance collective in their rehearsals and performances. It also challenges the dancers' and musicians' definitions of art and its function in this world but also their views on pain, passion and purpose and discussions on how the perception of dance has evolved through time. Gradually, we meet the dancers from Wuppertal who share their experiences of having worked with visionary choreographer Pina Bausch, her present legacy and what the future might look like.
